The Doral/Medley Green Transit Village consisting of over 100 acres and located at the intersection of NW 74th Street and 87th Avenue is planned to invigorate Northwest Miami-Dade County. The Transit Village is a mixed-use, multi-modal development, and is connected via a Monorail Loop to the Palmetto Station of the Metrorail.  The development team believes the Transit Village has the potential to be the most important transit-oriented development (TOD) in the State of Florida and can even serve as a national model for sustainable development that supports economic growth, encourages livable communities, and preserves environmental resources.

Desired outcomes of this project by the project team as well as Miami-Dade County, the City of Doral and the Town of Medley include providing for additional workforce housing, increased civic and educational activities supported by local institutions, and commercial space that supports job creation, all of which would be supported by transportation and pedestrian systems that will create a desirable urban environment for people of all ages.

Our team has identified strategies for incorporating more energy efficient building systems, green energy, better integration of on-going and future  multi-modal activities with new public amenities like plazas, park spaces, and sidewalks, and providing services that will further healthy urban living in Miami-Dade County.

Additionally, there is a need to provide for our men and women who serve, or have served our Country, with affordable unique housing opportunities.  These will be available to all Veterans, with special focus on these three areas:

  • Transitional Housing
  • Wounded Warriors
  • Single parent with children
